I am hoping the next president will pull out all the stops to get the country moving faster in that direction. All 3 candidates have endorsed PHEVs. There is a website that is following the Volt - http://gm-volt.com/ and another website that follows the PHEV progress is http://www.calcars.org/ They have developed a kit to help do self conversions of existing hybrids to PHEVs. I look forward to the day when I can do all my daily driving without using any gas. kws Alan,
