Guys night Out - Die Hard 4

A few weeks ago, the night after it opened, I organized a small group (guys-only) to go see the new Die Hard movie at the local big-screen theatre. We all enjoyed the movie quite a bit, and I know I look forward to picking up the DVD as soon as it comes out.
Movie Review:
A worthy addition to the Bruce Willis action movie franchise
This is the fourth edition in the series, and it rivals the original for action, storyline, and overall fun in the theatre. It’s been twelve years since Die Hard 3 was made, but Willis still has the ability to be believable as a “never-give-up, against-all-odds, wise-crackin” action hero. Justin Long as his side-kick was a fun addition, as he gets plenty of his own one-liners in, and helps ease the constant tension as the movie progresses. The action sequences are incredible, and the special effects are more subtle than in most Sci-Fi movies, helping keep a level of reality as Willis’s character risks life and limb thru-out the movie, just as in all of the Die Hard editions.
My rating: stars

Not the happiest of stories, but a well written, well acted sci-fi movie painted on the interesting canvas of an empty NYC.

Great action, and a better story than I expected from an action flick. Ran a little long, especially for my four year old. Shia LaBeouf was perfect cast in his role and really held the whole movie together well.

This is definitely a new "Bond". Gone is the smoothness, and goofiness of recent Bond movies - Daniel Craig gives us a rough, raw version, and I like it. Don't miss this in the theatres! I look forward to the next installment.

I commend the story for its reality, but it was one of my least favorite Vince Vaugh movies, because it really isn't a comedy.
