Denver Auto Show - 3rd Annual Event

On the first of April — Tobey, Gramps, Chris, Paul and I all attended the Denver Auto Show. For Tobey, it was his third annual such event. Carrie and Sara joined us afterwards for dinner downtown. Of course, a Light Rail trip was part of the event - but it was the first time we could ride it all the way from Englewood, which was great. Gramps met us partway there at a station halfway between Englewood and downtown.

The highlights of the event this year for me were the newly designed Chevy Camero, which is coming out in April, and remembering the past two years of chasing Tobey around the convention center. The differences between Tobey at nearly two and nearly four years of age? Chasing him around felt about the same, although he covers a lot more ground now, but it was fun watching his level of interaction change with the cars from simply pretending to steer, to seeking out the ones that had XM Radio and Navigation systems turned on so that he could push the buttons and see and hear the systems respond. As Paul said, I’m sure the people responsible for moving all of the cars out of the convention center at the end of the event had some very loud and tweaked setups to deal with!

Tobey is getting an early start on the Navigation systems. When I was his age we had our first Model T, with curtains that would snap on to keep out the cold or the rain. I wonder what the vehicles will be like when he is my age?
