I think you can probably guess which of our kids is off to college this evening.
No, not the squinty, happy, I’m so happy I get to stay up late pair of eyes that belong to our three year old….
The beautiful eyes belonging to our eighteen year old, the ones that show a mix of excitement, fear, and curiousity as she heads off to the University of Colorado in Boulder.
Ashley - it has been my honor to share the past fourteen years with you in one house or another. We’ve had many of my favorite discussions late at night in recent years, and I look forward to still having more of those with you over your next four years - thanks to the world of instant messaging. Now it won’t be quite so silly as when we sometimes did it across the 20′ span of basement floor.
Let me say it one more time - I’m very proud of you, and the woman you’ve become, and I know that you will do well at school, and you’ll have a blast doing it! Enjoy yourself, be safe, and know that we are always here when you need us.
