Blizzard of 2005

I was hoping to write about Tobey’s birthday party from earlier today, but instead we are writing about the “big storm” that hit Denver earlier today. (Sunday)

An expected snowstorm of 6-10 inches turned into 16 inches for South-east Denver. The crazy thing is that on Saturday, I was outside in shorts and a t-shirt!

With the depth of the snow, and the treacherous roads today, we postponed Tobey’s party to next Sunday instead, which is expected to be much nicer. We’re supposed to be back up into the 60’s by Tuesday. Crazy!

Ashley was excited to have a snow day on Monday, as school was already cancelled as of Sunday evening.

Here are a few pictures from the day:

We wondered about how much snow you were getting in Englelwood, and now we know! Tobey and Twiz look happy about their new playground. What a beautifully decorated yard you have–with Dad there to shovel a path. Nice camera-work, Carrie.

Dear Denverites, Wow and wow again! I heard about it on the news last night, but it looks heavy and sticky like spring snow often is. I sympathize for your poor aching back Alan. I also had to cancel a birthday once for sickness (Josh had the flu). It was awful to rearrange everything and his cake (shaped like a choo-choo) was stale! Yuck! Love, Aunt JoAnn

Oh how we miss the snow of good ol’ Colorado. Looks like a blast!!! LOVE the jacket Twiz. GO NUGGETS!!

Thanks for the comments! In typical Colorado fashion, the weather changed today and more than 2/3 of the snow has already melted. Tomorrow is supposed to top 60, so I expect that the rest will be gone shortly. :)

As Dane said - Go Nuggets! (Now officially PLAYOFF BOUND)
