Trip to Barbados

In May, Carrie and I snuck back to the scene of our honeymoon for 5 days - Barbados!

Tobey stayed with Grammy and Gramps in Boulder (thank-you, thankyou!) and Ashley went to school and stayed with her Dad. While it was nice to get away, we missed them both terribly by the end of the vacation.

Barbados was as beautiful and friendly as we remembered from 1998. It was sunny and warm nearly every day, with just a little rain on the last full day. We stayed at the same Glitter Bay Hotel on the western (Caribbean) side of the island that we had stayed in for a few nights on our honeymoon. Many of the same people still worked there that we remembered from 6 years ago. We spent much of our time relaxing and sleeping (I read 2 books and felt more rested than I have in years) but we did find time to play tennis once and 9 holes of golf at a nearby course. We also took a few trips out on the water - once in a glass bottom boat to see turtles and another time in a catamaran. All in all, a wonderful vacation.

Here’s a link to the photo gallery. Hope you enjoy seeing some of the vacation thru my digital camera!

Oh yeah, and if you are up for an amazing story, ask me sometime about how my wedding ring was lost at the bottom of the ocean for over half an hour, yet I’m still wearing it as I type this!

Thanks for sharing the beautiful record of your trip to Barbados. We know you are equally happy to be back with your beautiful family. How did you retrieve your ring from the bottom of the ocean?
