Tobey Wayne is here!
After what seemed like a very long wait, our new arrival is finally here. Tobey Wayne Switzer arrived at 1:12AM on April 6th, weighing in at 8.06 pounds and 21.5 inches in length. Carrie was amazing thru-out the delivery and is doing very well - quite happy to be “unpregnant” again.
Carrie says that Tobey has my eyebrows and big bottom lip - he’s already learned how to use it for some effective pouting! He has some dark hair similar in color to Carrie’s. Tobey also seems to have picked up a humorous rapid-fire sneezing trait from his big sister Ashley and Carrie. You have to see it to believe it.
We had a busy first day in the hospital with visits in order of appearance from the Lockwoods, Nicholls, Amy & Brian, Mom & Dad, Big sister Ashley, Reverend Bonnie, and Amy Dickerson. Tobey and Mom were both in great shape that they let us out a day early for good behavior. We returned home at around 1:00 in the afternoon on Monday. Tobey would like to thank everyone who came to visit him, and Carrie and I would like to thank Amy & Brian, and our neighbor Wendy for taking care of Twizzler and Ashley while we were away. We wouldn’t have had nearly as great of a start without your help.
Our first few days home have gone by quickly and better than I could have ever imagined. Carrie is doing well, and I’m doing everything I can to help her rest and recover. Ashley has been awesome, picking Tobey up yesterday afternoon when he was fussy and comforting him for several hours. For a girl that hasn’t ever babysat, she’s like an old pro - maybe something to do with the many,many cousins she has. She’s going to be a great big sister, and Tobey will look up to her and love her.
If you hadn’t already suspected it, Tobey will have his own website in the next few weeks when I can find some time.

Congrats to all the Twizzlers. He is so beautiful! He looks almost buddha-like in that last picture! Very wise and peaceful.
