Happy Independence Day!

Hope you all had an enjoyable 4th of July! Our good friends the Lockwoods came over late morning and we grilled some burgers and bratwursts with them. Then, we packed up our babies and headed to the pool. What a production! (It’s good practice for an upcoming trip to Florida that we are planning…) The pool was packed with kids and parents from the neighborhood. Mike and I braved the heat and smacked the tennis ball around for awhile. Good thing we didn’t play much longer, as Mike was catching on fast and was planning to beat the teacher in the 2nd set. :)

In the late afternoon I went out an bought a small amount of legal fireworks so that Tobey could celebrate his first Independence Day in style. We also had tentative plans to head to a park to watch a nearby fireworks show. Well, it was an exciting day, and Tobey crashed around 6:30, well before it was close to getting dark. Carrie and I listened to a few nearby fireworks shows from surrounding towns (couldn’t see them through the trees) and lit off a few of the amateur fireworks I bought. We saved the rest for Sunday night so that Ashley and Tobey could both enjoy them then.

Here’s a few photos from the day:

Looks like fun in the sun! Does Tobey like the water? He doesn’t look very happy? Remember Alan, I used to take 4 small sons to the pool daily every summer! I got good at packing up! Aunt JoAnn

Tobey, the pictures look like you are saying, "I liked the water better on my head." When you get being in the pool all figured out, you no doubt will share the enthusiasm of your family and friends!
    Love to see your activities.
