34th B-Day / Mother’s Day

Yup, that’s right - I’m 34 as of yesterday. (May 10th)

The answer to the obligatory question is yes, I am feeling older these days, but the best part is that I really don’t mind! Tobey and Ashley will keep me feeling young for years to come, at least once Tobey lets me get more than a few hours of sleep a night! :)

It was a great birthday. We woke up to 6 inches of heavy snow - actually, both Carrie and I saw it during the middle of the night during Tobey’s middle of the night feedings. We celebrated a bit during the day while trying to recover a bit from lack of sleep. A nice, lazy Saturday. Around dinnertime, Amy and Brian came over and we had some pizza and watched the Matrix on DVD. We were getting ready for our upcoming outing this week where we plan to see the sequel on opening night as a group. Tobey slept right between Amy and I on the couch - loud surround sound and all. Oh yeah, can’t forget one of the best parts - Brian whipped up an incredible homemade carrot cake - see him with the masterpiece below. It was tasty!

Today was Mother’s Day. I had the pleasure of spending it with 4 Mom’s - Carrie, my Mom, Carrie’s Mom Celine, and Brian’s Mom Helen. We had a family brunch nearby - a great spread, and a nice opportunity to hang out as a family. Also - Happy Birthday to Celine on the 13th.

Is this a first, Alan, –being able to shovel snow on your May 10th birthday? The carrot cakes look like works of art, and I can imagine how tasty. What contributions to a double birthday, Brian! Tobey looks happy at the celebration. The mother-daughter smiles are great. Happy Birthday tomorrow, Celine. Thanks for sharing your celebrations, Alan.
