Tobey's First Trip to the Zoo - June 5th, 2004

On a warm Saturday in early summer 2004, we decided to take Tobey to the Denver Zoo. Since his first several sounds were all based on animals, and he's already been to and enjoyed several petting zoos, we thought he would have a good time. He had a blast! His favorites were the goats, monkeys, fish, and of course the ducks and geese he met in the park where we had lunch. We were also able to see a very tiny baby gorilla that had just been born at the zoo. My favorite memories were when he chased the ducks waving his arms and making his famous "donald duck" quack noise, and when he saw the colorful fish up close in the Tropical Discovery section and could not stop saying "ohhhhh, ohhhh" while he pointed at them. We look forward to going back, as some new exhibits are opening later this month.
