Alan overlooking Lake Lucern and the Kapelbrücke mit Wasserturm (the Chapel Bridge) in Switzerland. The city of Lucern is beautifully nested in the Alps.

The Chapel Bridge was constructed in the first half of the 14th century and paintings were added in the 17th century to illustrate scenes of Swiss and local history. Unfortunately, a fire in the 1990's destroyed some of the works, but efforts are being made to repair the bridge and restore the paintings that were lost.
